Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology


The combined Veterinary Residency/PhD program trains post-DVM individuals for leadership positions in academia, government institutions, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. After completion of the program, individuals will have dual training of a PhD and be eligible for board certification. Residency training occurs within the Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory and Research training is leading by the Department of Microbiology and Pathobiology. Research is hypothesis driven and focused on immunology and bacterial, parasitic, and viral infections of animals and humans.
