Primary current research interest is in discovering and reporting new diseases in animals via diagnostic pathology. Principal funded research projects in the past have involved pathogenesis of eosinophilic inflammation associated with Taenia taeniaeformis infection; and pathogenesis and comparative pathology of bovine Marfan syndrome. Collaborative research projects have included analysis of trefoil peptide expression in disease of dogs and cats (Bonnie Campbell, Principal Investigator) pathogenesis of pneumonia Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep (Subramaniam Srikumaran, Principal Investigator); and pathogenesis of E. coli O157:H7 virulence factors (Tom Besser, Principal Investigator).
